XIIth International ProGEO Symposium
From 30 September to 2 October 2025, Ľubomír Štrba participated in the XIIth International ProGEO Symposium in Tulcea, Romania, where he presented his research titled “Beyond Traditional Assessment Methods: Rethinking Geoheritage Values for Its Promotion and Geotourism Development.”
His work introduces an innovative framework for assessing geoheritage that goes beyond purely scientific criteria and incorporates public preferences, visual attractiveness, safety, infrastructure, and cultural significance. This holistic approach supports more effective geotourism development, enhances visitor experience, and contributes to sustainable development at both local and regional levels. The current research is being carried out within the COMEGA project (APVV-24-0554).
