Professionally, primarily focuses on the identification of geological heritage and various related approaches of evaluation, description and interpretation for the purposes of utilization and development of specific forms of tourism, such as geotourism, mining tourism, or other sustainable forms of tourism. In addition, his area of interest is the protection of nature’s non-living component, and the presentation of knowledge about the Earth’s geology to the general public with an emphasis on understanding the importance of abiotic components (geological heritage and geodiversity) within the functioning of the entire environmental system. He actively participates in cooperation with DMOs, (e. g. Visit Kosice), towards the effective development of tourism.
Author of the only Slovak university textbook focusing on geotourism.
Member of the International Association for the Conservation of Geological Heritage (ProGEO) and the Slovak Geological Society (SGS).
